“American choreographer Lea Ved draws inspiration from the poetic mystery of humanity. Her dance piece "Unfinished Chapels" is inspired by her experiences visiting the chapels of the Batalha Monastery in Portugal, which date back to the 15th century and lie abandoned in the open air. Ved develops the piece under the impression of these unfinished, majestic structures, where mysticism and beauty merge with the resonance of what is raw, open, and palpably alive. Both the personalities and movements of the dancers and the design of the stage set become the framework for a reinterpreted space in which we encounter the vulnerable, the vibrant, and the essential nature of being human.”
